Character's original name: Morgana McCawber
Character's current name if different: N/A
Character age: Late twenties/early twenties.
Original Canon format (Anime, manga, video game, live action TV, novel, web comic, etc.): Western Animation
Name of original canon: Darkwing Duck
If the AU is just adding or taking a different path, canon point before AU: Technically, neither? While the original character is from Darkwing Duck, the AU canon is Ducktales 2017. As such the “canon point” is after Ducktales 2017 ended, since she never existed in Ducktales 2017 proper. The original DWD and Ducktales87 were loosely considered the same universe, and the DT17 canon had its own Darkwing.
Is the canon point more than 6 months old in the US as far as you know?: Yes, Darkwing Duck was made in the 90s.
If not, as best you know it, US release date of the canon point: N/A.

How does the AU personality and history differ from the canon personality and history?:
Original History –
Morgana McCawber was raised in a tight family of monsters that expected her to do the same as they’d always done – scaring villagers and eventually settling down with a fellow monster. After graduating top of her class in a magical academy, Morgana decided to forge her own path and create her own business, having shown an interest in food and cooking. Her first business venture was McCawber’s Mushrooms, which would be Saint Canard’s number one spot for everything related to mushrooms. Unfortunately, Morgana also faced the ultimate horror known to every monster and mortal... School loans. Deciding it’d take too long the honest way, Morgana worked with fellow monsters to steal ingredients from other shops so they could create their own special pizza mushrooms. This caught the attention of local hero Darkwing Duck, who, while investigating the odd thievery, fell head over heels for the sorceress at first sight. Deciding to use his attraction to her advantage, Morgana seduced Darkwing to make sure he didn’t suspect anything – alas, the attraction became mutual.
But even her feminine wiles couldn’t put a real stop to his heroism, and her fellow employes captured him and his sidekick once they discovered what was going on. While the other monsters were eager to get rid of Darkwing and Launchpad, Morgana was already so enamored with him (and reluctant to hurt anyone) that she freed them both and helped them put an end to the whole business. But after a bit more fun flirting, she vanished before she could be handed over to the police.
In her next appearance, she’d made a deal with a dream demon-like creature called Nodoff – he’d give her Sleep Sand, which would put anyone instantly to sleep, and while the victims slept, Nodoff would give them dreams they’d enact in real life so Morgana could rob them. Once again, Darkwing caught onto her schemes, and once again Morgans successfully seduced him into looking the other way. But after having some sense knocked into him (and a few gold bricks), Darkwing uncovered the truth behind the strange robberies, and accidentally put Morgana to sleep with her own sand.
In Nodoff’s world, his true intentions were revealed – he wanted the entire city of Saint Canard under his control for all of time and had played Morgana like a fiddle. Darkwing managed to enter Dream World, and urged Morgana to combat Nodoff’s nightmares with her own good dream (which turned out to be marrying Darkwing. Oops.) Launchpad helped her wake up, and Nodoff was tricked into entering the Real World, where his powers didn’t work at all. Nodoff was finally defeated, and after that embarrassing incident, Morgana decided to stop her villainy once and for all. She opened another business, this time a restaurant that served strange but delicious cuisine and became Darkwing/Drake Mallard’s steady girlfriend.
Since then, she’s been an active side on the force for good, helping Darkwing take down other villains such as Negaduck and the Fearsome Four, while also maintaining a relationship with him.
Original Personality –
While Morgana is no longer a femme fatale, she’s still got a very flirty personality and actively enjoys teasing Darkwing/Drake. This is really rooted in her belief that she’s smarter than everyone around her, which has come back to bite her several times – in her previous schemes, it never occurred to her that her fellow villains would betray her or go against what she wanted, even when it was painfully obvious. But these schemes also showed that she never really wanted to hurt anyone at all and was just after ways to get rich quick. For example, in her first scheme, when Uncle Nero attempted to get rid of Darkwing early on (and could have, given that DW was tied up) she interfered and saved him even though with Darkwing out of the way, her evil plot would have continued without a hitch.
Good or evil, she proved that her temper is not to be underestimated. When made angry, she won’t even hesitate to zap her boyfriend a few times to “teach him a lesson”, though he usually earns it by insulting her cooking. She can also be stubborn to a fault, refusing to see what she did wrong until the consequences are blown up right in front of her face. That said, when she does realize when she goes too far, she’s very quick to make up for it and try to set things right.
Ultimately, Morgana is a good person with “bad” powers, and just needs a few pushes here and there to get in the right direction. She can be sassy and snarky to those she opposes, and sweet and playful to those she cares about.
AU History –
Morgana was born to a Very High Society family when it came to monsters – they weren’t exactly rich, but their name carried a lot of prestige. Her mother died young, and her father, Moloculo, took it upon himself to mold Morgana into the perfect heir. Part of her family’s legacy, and that of many a monster, was scaring away nearby mortals. During her childhood, Morgana always felt she had something to say but no way to actually express it, as her father and everyone around her had expectations she didn’t want to live up to. As a result, she was a very shy and withdrawn girl, afraid to make eye-contact and speak up. One day when her family and others scared off a bunch of mortals, those mortals left behind a modern radio. Morgana kept it for herself, and heard something she’d never heard before – rock’n’roll.
Overnight, Morgana was a changed girl. In that genre of music, she found ways to express herself and felt she could finally be heard. It gave her the confidence to speak up and rebel against her father, who naturally discouraged it. As she got older and more rebellious, she decided she wanted to be a rock star, and so ran away from home to pursue her dreams since she knew her family and other monsters wouldn’t support her. Eventually she formed a small band with mortal goth-rockers who assumed her magic and appearance were just for show. During one gig, she let loose some of her magic and they realized she was a monster – and instantly turned on her, thinking she’d attack them. Heartbroken, Morgana realized she’d never get real support from monsters or mortals, and decided the only way to fame was to steal it.
She recruited some of her more notorious cousins (those who even other monsters saw as too wicked and malicious) into her band – they weren’t interested in the music, but they did want to terrorize mortals and steal money from them. Since then, her band has traveled here and there playing music by day and stealing wealth by night. Their latest scheme in Saint Canard was unexpectedly foiled by the city’s resident hero, Darkwing Duck. Without funds to move, the band has stuck around to continue their crime spree, with Morgana and Darkwing constantly clashing. In another twist, Morgana wound up becoming close to her biggest fan, Gosalyn Mallard, and even closer with her father, Drake Mallard. Meeting them has reminded her of why she wanted to pursue music in the first place, and with Darkwing’s help, she may find a way to the light at last.
AU Personality -
When in Civilian mode, Morgana seems like a very calm, cool type. She usually has a relaxed smile on, and gives off an air that very few things bother her. A good chunk of this is a façade, not wanting to let her guard down around others. If she gets much more comfortable around someone (such as Drake and the fam), they’d find she can actually be very cheerful and almost sunny. But she’s aware that kind of clashes with her gothic style and music, so she finds it embarrassing and thus another reason to hide it. If someone likes her music, or just vibes with rock’n’ roll in general, she finds it easier to open up around them. If given the opportunity, she’d happily talk about music for hours.
In Villain mode, she’s much haughtier and crueler, laughing at the misery of others if it means she’s succeeded. She’s also much quicker to anger this way, barking and snapping at anyone who gets in her way. She often treats a lot of her crimes like games to play or gigs to rock. While she does feel some level of guilt about the people she steals from, she pushes it deep down and pretends like it never bothers her. Her Civilian mode can be found in more emotionally volatile moments, having some level of shame she can be like this so easily. But despite how hard she tries to be evil, there are lines she will not cross, such as harming children.
The “Real” Morgana is a combination of both. Sharp-tongued and merciless to her enemies, perky to those she loves, and cooly casual to those in-between.
Please list and explain the three worst (morally) things your character has ever done in canon that you have not changed:
A) Seducing and deceiving Darkwing to divert his attention away from her evil schemes – even if it meant outright lying to him.
B) Stealing people’s hard-earned money, valuables and other assets she wanted for herself. She’s also put people in possible harm’s way while doing so - even if she didn’t intend for it, she didn’t stop it either until Darkwing came along.
C) Aligning herself with people she knew were dangerous and knew were fine with hurting others, despite opposing the latter.
Please list and explain the three best (morally) things your character has ever done in canon that you have not changed:
D) Saved Darkwing from her evil partners although it meant her plans were ruined, even if it meant betraying the people she was working with. While she doesn’t want to hurt anyone, she can make herself push through it, but hurting Darkwing is an absolute NO.
E) Saving Launchpad from being hurt by those very same partners. In this instance, she had the option of keeping Darkwing (via brainwashing) and disposing of Launchpad lethally. Instead, she freed them both and did all she could to ensure Launchpad was harmed as little as possible, even if he’d been opposed to her and Darkwing’s iffy relationship from the start.
F) Guiding Gosalyn in the ways of magic. It’s implied that people who don’t inherit magic physically have a tougher (but not impossible) time learning it, but she was more than happy to show Gosalyn the ropes and even helped her get a spot in her old school, encouraging her all the while and being as proud of her accomplishments as if she was her own daughter.
Please list and explain the three worst (morally) things your character has ever done in your AU version:
G) in this version, Morgana often uses her own fans as victims of her schemes, such as her first crime – using her music to brainwash them into handing over their valuables, which they wouldn’t have done if they hadn’t purchased her extremely expensive single and as such they’d already given her plenty of money.
H) “Cheating” on Drake with Darkwing, and vice versa – she struggles to commit to one, and even when she thinks she’s about to, one call from Drake or one smile from Darkwing has her flipping her switch. Obviously, she has no clue that this is the same guy and the “cheating” is actually harmless, but to outsiders it looks as if she’s playing with their emotions and refusing to make a choice while hurting both of them. She’s “aware” of how bad this is and wants to stop, but can’t bring herself to do it.
I) Refusing all contact with her family – she won’t answer calls from her father or anyone else from her homeland based on them “not getting” her and “holding her back”. However, what makes this wrong is that she won’t even let them know if she’s alive or all right, which is the bare minimum they ask. Out of misguided contempt, she has vowed to never speak to them again or even acknowledge their existence.
Please list and explain the three best (morally) things your character has ever done in your AU version:
J) Refusing to separate Eek and Squeak, as they were twins, despite needing only one familiar – and then not only keeping a third but refusing to get rid of them even well into adulthood when she no longer “needed” them by the standards of magic users. To her, they’re as close as family, and deserve to be treated as such.
K) During her first concert in Saint Canard, she noticed one of her audience members antagonizing and ready to hurt another (who wound up being Gosalyn). Instead of just letting it happen, she interrupted her own show to attack the aggressor and defend Gosalyn – but in true rock style, she made it part of the show, inviting Gosalyn to dance and sing with her so she could still have a fun time.
L) Sacrificing an opportunity to get away with the things she stole from her fans in order to save Gosalyn’s life (while risking her own) via pushing her out of the way of falling debris… which wouldn’t have been falling if she hadn’t been blaring magic music as part of her evil plan.
Please put all of the best and worst things explained above on a timeline relevant to each other:
All combined, the timeline should look like this from first to current –
J (keeping familiars) – I (blocking off family) – C – (aligning with evil) - B (stealing begins) – G – (stealing from fans) - K (saving a fan) – A (seducing Darkwing) – L (saving Gosalyn) – H – (“cheating” on darkwing) – F (guiding gosalyn) – D – (saved darkwing) – E (saved Launchpad) .
Do you consider your character a hero, an anti-hero, a good aligned side kick, a bystander, a victim, a fence sitter, a mercenary, an evil aligned side kick, a villain, or something else? Why?:
For this AU of the character, Morgana is a Villain in the technical sense of the word, and it's what she considers herself. She does enjoy the surface-level of being a villain (the showmanship, the fighting, tricking those she feels deserves it, the thrill of the chase) but the seedier aspects make her stomach turn (actually hurting innocent people, taking someone else's hard-earned dough, twisting the trust of those who believed in her) and she tells herself it's only temporary. But if anyone were to tell her otherwise, her low self-esteem would make her scoff. Ultimately, she does have more heroic aspects than she realizes (and even enjoys them sometimes) and just needs nudges in the right direction.
Do you think your character should start on the Isle or in Auradon? Why?:
Isle. She wouldn't really be able to trust anyone in Auradon, but on the Isle she'd likely find allies and people she feels understand her. She would also be aghast at the conditions of the Isle and try to find ways to make it better for everyone (while playing it under the guise of selfishness).
Which of those two would you prefer your character to start in?:
Isle, for the reasons listed above - besides, we all know villains get the best songs. More seriously, she might have easier CR on the Isle at first.
Are you still interested in having this character in this game at this time if that preference is not met?:
Sure, it'd still be a fun time.
Powers and Abilities:
Lighting bolts – without her guitar, she can merely do a quick zap that is like a more painful static shock. With her guitar, this gets powered up where it can blow up small objects and cause a whallop of pain.
Flight – Can vanish and travel as a pack of bats. Very difficult technique, can really do this once a day.
Transformation - Really just a quick costume change with a snap of her fingers.
Siren Song – Can compel people to obey her commands. It’s easier to control a subject if they don’t realize she’s trying to control them. If they know about the trick, it’s much more difficult and they can fight it off. Either way, the effect is stronger if she has her guitar/accompanying music.
(Since I'm suggesting she goes to the Isle, I'm fine with having all of the above nerfed/removed due to the Isle's magic restraints.)
Knows how to fight, and can use her guitar as a battle ax.
Has a deep knowledge of potions.
What clothing/items did your character arrive with? (See rules and FAQ for what is allowed, feel free to ask if you are unsure):
If she gets sent to the Isle, her only outfit will be the Villain wear - a sharp red full body outfit that a high V-neck, long black gloves, and tall sleek black footwear. She will also be bringing her guitar, and if possible, her familiars Eek, Squeak, And Archie. (Twin bats and a spider)
Optional- What do you have to keep in mind when playing this character?:
This will be my first time playing her outside of PSLs/Memes, so I need to take the tags a bit more "seriously", not just how I want things to go. In addition, this is my first time playing an OC and an AU character in a game, so there's a lot new territory I'm shakily entering - so I need to be careful and not overstep any boundaries or go all god-mod over here. She's fun, but she's not perfect.
What mod candy, if any, does your character bring? (Aka what elements would you really like to see us play with?):
With Morgana’s love of music, she’d encourage others to pick up musical talents, and might even attempt either an Isle concert or a Battle of the Bands with them versus Aurdon… and given the fun chaos that is RP, the battle part may become literal.
What else do you think the mods should know about your character or the AU or the cannon the AU is from?:
This is a bit of a doozy, so apologies in advance.
In the original Darkwing Duck cartoon (which had loose ties to the original Ducktales), Darkwing's girlfriend was a villainess named Morgana McCawber - a magical monster-like woman who used various spells and tricks to rob people before turning over a new leaf. In Ducktales 2017, a "new" version of Darkwing Duck was made, but the show didn't have a "new" Morgana to go with it. Many fans thought up their own ideas of what she could have been, and I fell in love with one designed by queenie-draws-stuff on tumblr. She came up with the concept of Morgana as a Villain Rockstar, but after two or three posts about them, left the idea aside and moved on to other fandoms.
I was still mega-obsessed with her, so I expanded on the concept with a few drabbles and tossing ideas around with friends. One of those friends also adored the idea, and since they played DT17 Darkwing, I made an account for her and we played around with them. I never really intended to play her for anything more than PSLs/memes, since I thought her dubious origins and heavy changes from the Original Morgana would make her inapplicable for games in the first place. But a certain mod of yours believes otherwise, and ultimately I decided I did enjoy playing her enough to give this a try. But no hard feelings if it's not enough! I knew this was a long shot to begin with, and writing all this down has been a fun writing exercise.

Any questions?: None.
