Fake Application Info Dump

 Character Name: Morgana McCawber

Species: Unknown – initial appearance suggests a black-billed duck or other kind of bird. However, her family line consists of several different kinds of monsters (vampires, succubus, gorgon, etc) , implying she’s actually a hybrid of many monsters. However, while she has gained the physical trait of many of them, she lacks many of their supernatural abilities.
Canon: Darkwing Duck DT17 Version
Character Age: Late twenties/early thirties.

Background Information:  Morgana was born to a Very High Society family when it came to monsters – they weren’t exactly rich, but their name carried a lot of prestige. Her mother died young, and her father, Moloculo, took it upon himself to mold Morgana into the perfect heir. Part of her family’s legacy, and that of many a monster, was scaring away nearby mortals. During her childhood, Morgana always felt she had something to say but no way to actually express it, as her father and everyone around her had expectations she didn’t want to live up to. As a result, she was a very shy and withdrawn girl, afraid to make eye-contact and speak up. One day when her family and others scared off a bunch of mortals, those mortals left behind a modern radio. Morgana kept it for herself, and heard something she’d never heard before – rock’n’roll.

Overnight, Morgana was a changed girl. In that genre of music, she found ways to express herself and felt she could finally be heard. It gave her the confidence to speak up and rebel against her father, who naturally discouraged it. As she got older and more rebellious, she decided she wanted to be a rock star, and so ran away from home to pursue her dreams since she knew her family and other monsters wouldn’t support her. Eventually she formed a small band with mortal goth-rockers who assumed her magic and appearance were just for show. During one gig, she let loose some of her magic and they realized she was a monster – and instantly turned on her, thinking she’d attack them. Heartbroken, Morgana realized she’d never get real support from monsters or mortals, and decided the only way to fame was to steal it.

She recruited some of her more notorious cousins (those who even other monsters saw as too wicked and malicious)  into her band – they weren’t interested in the music, but they did want to terrorize mortals and steal money from them. Since then, her band has traveled here and there playing music by day and stealing wealth by night. Their latest scheme in Saint Canard was unexpectedly foiled by the city’s resident hero, Darkwing Duck. Without funds to move, the band has stuck around to continue their crime spree, with Morgana and Darkwing constantly clashing. In another twist, Morgana wound up becoming close to her biggest fan, Gosalyn Mallard, and even closer with her father, Drake Mallard. Meeting them has reminded her of why she wanted to pursue music in the first place, and with Darkwing’s help, she may find a way to the light at last.

Character Appearance: In human terms, Morgana is the size of an average adult human in their twenties, but in the DT world, she’s seen as very tall. White feathers, black bill, green eyes with single slits. (The eye appearance notes her magical background – the majority of people in DT have pie-eyes, while magical beings, like Magica De Spell for example, have slit pupils.)  Claw-like yellow and black fingernails which can grow longer/sharper if she concentrates.

Black hair with a dominant white streak that mostly covers one side of her head, the other side of her head having a buzz-cut. In her civilian look, she tends to go goth with her outfits, such as a spider-web skirt, pentagram-embedded top, spiker choker, and steel-toe boots. In her Villainess form, she wears a sharp red full body outfit that a high V-neck, long black gloves, and tall sleek black footwear.

Personality:

When in Civilian mode, Morgana seems like a very calm, cool type. She usually has a relaxed smile on, and gives off an air that very few things bother her. A good chunk of this is a façade, not wanting to let her guard down around others. If she gets much more comfortable around someone (such as Drake and the fam), they’d find she can actually be very cheerful and almost sunny. But she’s aware that kind of clashes with her gothic style and music, so she finds it embarrassing and thus another reason to hide it. If someone likes her music, or just vibes with rock’n’ roll in general, she finds it easier to open up around them. If given the opportunity, she’d happily talk about music for hours.

In Villain mode, she’s much haughtier and crueler, laughing at the misery of others if it means she’s succeeded. She’s also much quicker to anger this way, barking and snapping at anyone who gets in her way. She often treats a lot of her crimes like games to play or gigs to rock. While she does feel some level of guilt about the people she steals from, she pushes it deep down and pretends like it never bothers her. Her Civilian mode can be found in more emotionally volatile moments, having some level of shame she can be like this so easily. But despite how hard she tries to be evil, there are lines she will not cross, such as harming children.

The “Real” Morgana is a combination of both. Sharp-tongued and merciless to her enemies, perky to those she loves, and cooly casual to those in-between.

Tell us about who your character is and what someone’s first impression would be upon meeting them.

In Civilian Mode, a person’s first impression is that she’s a very lax person who doesn’t let much get to her and enjoys teasing those around her. When Drake “snuck” to her dressing room, she didn’t even raise her voice or grow angry with him – instead, she was just amused at the attempt and used him to kill some time.

On Stage, she’s incredibly loud and bold, with hard hitting notes and violent dance moves. She always encourages her fans to sing, dance, and “throw your horns!” If she spots someone in the audience who needs help (as Gosalyn did, when another fan tried to attack her) she won’t hesitate to step in to help them out with her own brand of justice.

What is a driving force your character has? What goals do they have, what motivates them, etc?

Her original dream was to be “heard”, which motivated her to be a rock star. However, due to negative reactions from both monsters and mortals, her dream got warped into being wealthy, since she feels you can’t be a rock star without money. But the original dream still compels her, and she wants her music to be heard all around the world. The real truth is she wants her music to be able to help someone find their voice like the first time rock’n’roll helped find hers. (A foil to how the DWD show inspired Drake, who now wishes to help others in a similar vein.)

What are their flaws as a character? What is something they've messed up, or have done that they regret?

Her immediate need for pleasure and approval can often get in the ways of long-term planning. She’s not sure when the “end goal” of her crime spree would be, she’s just assuming it’ll end when she has “enough” money to be a rock star – but she can’t come up with an actual amount. She’ll also throw her plans out the window if something more fun or interesting comes up – If Morgana was about to plan a master heist, but Drake suddenly called her and asked her for a date that same night, Morgana would scrap her heist plans without a second thought. It may be a similar lovesick blindless that makes her oblivious to the fact Drake and Darkwing are the same person, despite the many clear clues. (Such as one having info only the other should have, or the fact Gosalyn and Launchpad are always around the same two guys.)

If asked, she’d say she ever regretted trusting anyone from her first band, since they betrayed her and treated her like a mindless violent creature. While this is still true, her deeper regrets are about pulling crimes on her fans. She feels very guilty about this, but does her best to suppress it, with the logic that “real fans would support her”, no matter what she does.

What is something unique and interesting about them, or what is a fun little tidbit that sets them apart from the crowd?

Those with magic have one familiar during childhood, and usually no longer need them a little bit before adulthood. Morgana was an oddity in both aspects – she wound up having three, as she couldn’t bear the separate Eek and Squeak, and instantly grew attached to Archie. Since she was very lonely as a child, these three were essentially her only friends and so she kept them on through adulthood. Having more than one familiar looked to others in the ways of magic as if she was useless and needed more help (as familiars are like assistants) and having them in adulthood gives the impression she’s very childish, since no adult needs them.

As a result, however, her familiars are incredibly loyal to her and see her as a mother figure. They’ll do whatever she asks of them no matter what – but also worry about her crime spree, wanting her to be safe and happy. As such, they try to encourage her to turn to good. Eek and Squeak ship both Morgana/Drake and Morgana/DW, as they believe they make her happy and will help her out, but Archie is reluctant to let anyone “have his mother” and stubbornly tries to chase the men away if he can.

Powers and Abilities:

Lighting bolts – without her guitar, she can merely do a quick zap that is like a more painful static shock. With her guitar, this gets powered up where it can blow up small objects and cause a whallop of pain.

Flight – Can vanish and travel as a pack of bats. Very difficult technique, can really do this once a day.

Siren Song – Can compel people to obey her commands. It’s easier to control a subject if they don’t realize she’s trying to control them. If they know about the trick, it’s much more difficult and they can fight it off. Either way, the effect is stronger if she has her guitar/accompanying music.

Knows how to fight, and can use her guitar as a battle ax.

Has a deep knowledge of potions.

Inventory:

Her guitar, Asmodeus.

Her two main outfits – Civilian and Villain.

Her tome – an old spellbook she stole from her hometown. It contains many secret, dark spells, but she mostly uses it as autograph paper. She’s reluctant to use any actual spells from there, thinking them too dangerous.

Her familiars – Eek, Squeak, and Archie. The first two are twin bats who have illusionary magic that can make it appear as if there are ten times as many bats as there really are. Archie is a spider with incredibly strong spider webs – strong enough to hold several gold bars at once.

What Did Your Character Wish For?:

“I wish everyone in the world would listen to my music.”

Character Questions:
1. Who is the person your character is most bonded with from their canon? Or who is someone they miss the most?

Drake Mallard/Darkwing Duck. Having felt isolated and then betrayed by those she trusted, Morgana has had a hard time making friends and believing in others (besides her pets/familiars, Eek Squeak and Archie.) So it came as a surprise to herself to befriend Drake Mallard and his family (Launchpad McQuack and Gosalyn) so easily, as they wore down her guard with little ease. Drake is the kindest person she’s ever met, and she’s wound up relying on that kindness more than she’d care to admit. She feels she can come to him with almost any problem and he’ll always have an ear to listen and a shoulder to cry on.

Darkwing Duck, on the flipside, continues to believe in her good side despite her many villainous acts. Though she’s turned on him, tricked him and betrayed him plenty, he still keeps encouraging her to turn over a new leaf. While she tells herself he’s just a lovestruck fool, she can’t help but be charmed by his stubbornness and eventually began to wonder if he was seeing something in her she couldn’t see for herself. It’s this combination of both men (while oblivious they’re the same man) that will eventually help her give up her life of crime and become a real hero.

2. What are they most afraid of?

If she was ever stuck in a “Their Biggest Fear” episode, it might go one of two ways. The simpler one is her yelling at the top of her lungs and yet no one being able to hear her – it’s not a fear of losing her voice, but of no one listening to what she has to say/sing. She’s terrified of being ignored and forgotten, seeing that as being even worse than a one-hit wonder.

The other route would be giving up on her music career and going along with her father’s plan for her life – being a Stay At Home Monster in an arranged marriage, doing whatever her husband says and having no life outside of the home. Such a stifling, suffocating life would be a death sentence for someone who demands to be loud and heard.

3. What is their weakness? Emotionally, mentally and physically?

Emotionally, her emotions can get in the way of logic. Her need for greedy pleasures often spell her own downfall. If she’s having too much fun during a crime or flirting with DW, she can completely forget about the real reason for the crime (money). When members of her own band point this out to her, she thinks they’re just being too serious, and when they’re ultimately right, she vows it won’t happen again… but it definitely will.

Mentally, she has great potential for math and other academics, as she had a great school record. However, she refuses to pursue said studies because of her stubborn determination to be a rock star. As a result, in the years since, she’s lost a lot of her academic knowledge and even some common sense when it comes to the differences between mortal and monster life. If she were to pick up studying again, it’d take a HUGE effort. One that, for now, she’s not willing to make.

Physically, she’s not very strong and most of her more powerful attacks are magical in nature. Her guitar does most of the fighting for her in any brawl. Without it, her magic and might is much weaker. Because she’s so slender, she doesn’t have much in the way of muscle, and could be easily lifted (as is the case when her drummer grows impatient with her,)

4. What would make them happiest?

Out loud, she says it’s to become a world famous rockstar. Someone who can’t be ignored, and who everyone will listen to.

Deep down, she just wants someone to listen to her and to be loved. She’s actually very lonely and craves affection, but is too afraid and too jaded to ask for it. When she gets it from Drake, she assumes he’ll flee if he knows the “real” her, and when she gets it from DW, she sees it as a game. On some depressing level, she fears she doesn’t have anything worthy for people to listen to.

5. What’s their type for a lover?

As a little girl, Morgana wanted to find true love, but growing up she saw that as nothing more than a child’s fancy and didn’t believe something like that even existed. Love was just some fairy tale fools believed in, merely as a cover for lust. As a result, she’s never given the idea of ‘type of significant other’ much thought, choosing to focus on her music more than her personal life.

But if her sudden infatuation with Drake and DW means anything, she has a type for nervous little gentlemen. They’re the nicest men she’s ever known, which is the major part of her attraction to them, even when she thinks she’s given them no reason to be so kind. She also can’t resist teasing them, be it with flirty word-play or getting up close and physical, and enjoys the flustered reaction it gets out of them. In a relationship, she enjoys being “in control” of her partner, seducing them into helpless mush. But she’s happy to “give up her power” when her love interest gets the confidence to flirt back. In fact, it’s when Drake/DW are at their most sincere that melts Morgana into giddy pudding.
